The ScanX Decision Report is a PDF that summarizes the merchant details that were used during the underwriting process and the resulting outputs of scoring integrations. The goal of this PDF is to put the key information used to make an underwriting decision, primarily approvals, into a single document for easy review by a Sponsor Bank or external auditors.
The Decision Report is configured at the scorecard level, meaning it needs to be enabled and configured for each scorecard template. This allows for different configurations for different scorecard use cases. There is a new Reporting tab in the Scorecard Editor where the report can be configured.
When a brand new scorecard template is created, the Decision Report will be enabled with default configurations. For any existing scorecards in-use, the Decision Report needs to be manually enabled in order to use it going forward.

Steps to Configure the Decision Report:
- Navigate to a scorecard: Administration > Scorecards > Select Scorecard.
- Click on the Reporting tab.
- Enable the ScanX Decision Report by clicking on the toggle in the header.
- Select which scoring rule outputs you want to be displayed in the report by (un)checking the checkboxes for each section. You can also change the order they are displayed by clicking the icon on the left side and dragging to a new position.
+ Note: The Merchant Summary will always be displayed at the top and cannot be reordered or removed from the report.
++ Note: Only integrations with rules enabled on that scorecard will be displayed so only relevant information can be selected for your report. - Enable default settings for reports generated for this scorecard
- Automatically generate report on Underwriter decision submission – Select the Underwriter Decision(s) that will trigger the report to automatically generate to make it available in the Scorecard’s attachments and ready for download immediately. Reports can be manually generated at any time, no matter the Underwriter Decision.
- Mask Sensitive Data – SSN, Tax IDs, Email Addresses, and Dates of Birth (DOB) will be masked so only the last 4 characters are shown (last 2 for DOB). If not enabled, users who download the report can see the full value. Sensitive data will be masked by default and need to be unchecked in the report settings to make it visible in the report.
- Attach report to lead in Merchant Central – Clients who use Merchant Central (formerly IRIS CRM) will be able to automatically have the report added as an attachment to the scorecard’s associate lead record. In the report settings, select which Attachments tab in Merchant Central you want the report to be added to and select the file label to apply. We recommend creating a new label specifically for Decision Report in your Merchant Central site.
- Generate MID from Merchant Central – Clients who use Merchant Central (formerly IRIS CRM) and board to TSYS FSP can choose to generate the MID at this step in the boarding process so the value is injected into the Decision Report. The MID will carryover to Merchant Central and be used during the TurboApp boarding process so it remains a unique identifier for the merchant. Read more in the FAQ section for how to use this setting.
- Configure White Label Settings
- Report Title – Name of the report that appears at the top of the Decision Summary.
- Report Footer – Choose whether or not to show your company logo in the footer of each page of the report. This is the logo configured in the company settings.
Generating a report from a specific scorecard
One way to access the Decision Report is while viewing a specific scorecard. If the report was configured to automatically generate after the Underwriter Decision, then the report will be available for download shortly after the Underwriter Decision is made. Follow the steps below to generate the report manually and download the report.
- Open a scorecard that has an Underwriter Decision.
- Click the Action Menu to expand it.
- Click “Generate ScanX Decision Report” in the new ScanX Decision Report section.
Note: It may take a minute or so for the report to generate.
- When the report is finished generating, click “Download ScanX Decision Report” to download the PDF to your local device. The report can also be downloaded from the Attachments tab in the Action Menu. You may have to refresh the page to see it there after generating.
Generating multiple reports from Workspace
ScanX Decision Reports can be individually or mass generated and downloaded from the ScanX Workspace. Much like the individual scorecard workflow, reports need to be generated before they can be downloaded which can take a few minutes or more depending on the number being generated. Follow the steps below to generate and download Decision Reports from Workspace.
- First, you’ll need to go to Administrations > Grid Manager and add Decision Report as a new field so the column can be displayed in your Workspace views.
- In Workspace, select 1 or multiple scorecards that have an Underwriter Decision using the checkboxes in the first column.
- If the Decision Report is configured for the scorecard types selected, you will have the option to Generate Decision Report in the actions at the top.
- Once you click Generate, you will receive a confirmation message to proceed with generating the reports.
- After the reports are generated, you will receive an email letting you know how many reports were generated and if any were not generated and why they weren’t. The report is only generated once per scorecard.
- After the reports have been generated they can be downloaded, using the same process as generating them. Select scorecards that have already been generated using the checkboxes in the first column of Workspace.
Note: You can easily tell which reports have been generated by looking at the new Decision Report column in workspace. If ‘Download’ is displayed, it has already been generated.
- You can also click Download in the Decision Report column to download the individual report for that particular scorecard.
- Decision reports will download to your local device. If you download more than one, it will be downloaded as a .zip file. You will need to unzip the file to extract the individual PDFs after downloading.

Will Decision Reports be enabled for my existing Scorecards?
No, for your existing Scorecards you will need to go into the Scorecard Editor and enable the report and set your desired configuration. When you create a new scorecard, the Decision Report will be enabled by default.
How is the Decision Report handled when a secondary reviewer is required?
When a secondary reviewer is configured for the scorecard, the Decision Report will not be generated until the secondary reviewer has made their decision in case it affects the final Underwriter Decision.
Can I generate the Decision Report for Pending Scorecards?
No, at this time only Scorecards with a final Underwriter Decision can have a Decision Report generated. The report is only generated once per scorecard.
Can I reposition the Decision Summary?
No, the Decision Summary section has to be included in the report and displayed first with the main information about the report and the overall decision.
Can I remove Merchant Information from the report?
No, you cannot remove the Merchant Information section from the report as it has all of the core information used to make the underwriting decision. You can reposition where this section is displayed in the report.
What are Underwriter Comments?
Underwriter Comments in the reporting configuration integrations pulls in comments from the scorecard that were checked to “Include in ScanX Decision Report”. If the checkbox is not selected when making the comment, it will not be included in the report.
Why is KYC SiteScan not included in the Decision Report?
Since KYC SiteScan generates its own PDF that can be downloaded, posted back, and attached to a lead via the Merchant Central integration, we did not inlclude the output in the Decision Report. The two PDFs - Decision Report and KYC SiteScan - can each be downloaded and sent to all parties who need them for review. In Q3 we will be adding the option to append the KYC SiteScan report to the end of the Decision Report.
Can a custom logo be used for the report footer?
You can choose to use your existing Company Logo that is configured in the company settings, but you can’t choose different logos for each Scorecard’s Decision Report.
Is it possible to mass download Decision Reports?
Yes, in the workspace you can download multiple Decision Reports by selecting each scorecard you want to download. Before downloading, you need to make sure all of the reports have been generated. You can download a maximum of 100 reports at a time. When more than 1 report is downloaded, it will be downloaded as a .zip file which you will need to unzip in order to extract the individual PDF files for each report.
What is Merchant Central?
Merchant Central is the NMI CRM solution, formerly known as IRIS CRM. You will only see the Merchant Central settings in the Reporting configuration if you have the Merchant Central (IRIS CRM) integration enabled on your site.
Can the MID be generated for all processors?
No, we only support automated MID generation and injection into the report for TSYS FSP which needs to already be enabled in your Merchant Central (IRIS CRM) site for this to work.
How does automated MID generation work in the Decision Report?
This is for partners using the Merchant Central (IRIS CRM) integration with ScanX (Agreement Express) and are a TSYS FSP ISO that boards merchants to TSYS using TurboApp. ScanX will generate the MID, inject into the Decision Report’s Merchant Information, and the MID will carry over to the lead and merchant records for boarding in Merchant Central.
In order for this to work you NEED to have the Boarding Profile lead field selected on the Merchant Central lead the report is being generated for. You can find more information about Boarding Profile in this knowledge base article. Contact support@iriscrm.com for help configuring Boarding Profiles if you haven’t already.
There is no support currently for manually entering a MID for it to display in the report.
