Telephone Verification

Overview

With Telephone Verification, Agreement Express will require the user to enter their phone number (mobile or home phone) during user registration. Once they have completed the registration panel Agreement Express will automatically send a message to the user’s mobile phone, or call their home phone, and provide them with a one-time 3 digit code that must be entered in order to complete registration. This will link the registered user back to a device that belongs to them. Note that a phone number can only be link back to a single account. Once a signer has a phone number linked to their account they'll be able to retrieve their password with their phone.

Telephone verification can be enabled at the company level with the following options:

PHONE_VERIFICATION_ENABLED: Allows the user to enter in their phone number during registration. This extra layer of verification won’t be required unless the Publisher selects the option on the signature block at time of publishing (or selects it & stores it in the Template when saving). Telephone verification can be used to add an additional level of identity confirmation with your customers.

PHONE_VERIFICATION_REQUIRED: Requires the user to enter in a phone number before they can complete registration.

If phone verification is enabled for the company you can require it on an agreement by clicking on a signature block and under 'Signatures and Form Tools' check the box for 'Verify Identity by Phone'.

When a new user registers an account, they will see two phone number fields in the registration panel. (They will only see these fields if the company has phone verification enabled). If ‘Verify Identity By Phone’ was selected for this signature, or the company has ‘PHONE_VERIFICATION_REQUIRED’, the user is required to enter a phone number.

If a mobile phone number is entered, a 3 digit code will be sent via SMS. If a home phone number is entered, the user will receive a phone call with the 3 digit code. Once they enter the 3 digit code registration is complete and they will be able to continue with signing.

If a user has a phone number registered, when they click on Forgot Password they will also have the option to retrieve their password through phone code verification.
